Neighbourhood watch

The Neighbourhood Watch scheme in the United Kingdom is a partnership intended to bring people together to make their communities safer.

It involves the police, Community Safety departments of local authorities, other voluntary organisations and individuals and families who ostensibly want to make their neighbourhoods better places to live.

It aims to help people protect themselves and their properties and to reduce the fear of crime by means of improved home security, greater vigilance, accurate reporting of suspicious incidents to the police and by fostering a community spirit.

Being a member can also reduce your Home Insurance Premium.

Beware of Thieves

Beware thieves operating in our area.

It appears that an attempt may have been made to steal some horses from a padlocked field. The lock was forced open and ropes were cut. 3 head collars were taken. There was also a recent unsuccessful attempt to steal a motor vehicle.

Please be vigilant, and ensure your property is as secure as you can make it.

If you see anything suspicious please report it to the Police immediately.

The Parish Council will be discussing the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner’s new “We Don’t Buy Crime” initiative at the next meeting in the village hall on Monday 17th September. This is aimed at providing Smartwater property marking kits and signage at reduced prices to the community.
