Good morning all,
Whilst I hope you have not had any damage caused by our poor roads, it is still imperative that all road defects are reported to the County Council through FixMyStreet app or website. My understanding is that as long as the road defects are reported, then a claim maybe possible for damage. If you do have damage, photographs of the road surface, damage to the car or tyre and where it happened, all help with making a claim.
The Parish Council is continually approaching the County and Highways to get roads repaired and drains cleared, but as we all can see they are not proactive and do not even seem to be reactive. I am continually chasing up road and drain fixes on FMS, but all I can say is that the replies I have received have been unhelpful. One success was the refilling or filling of most grit bins, but of course this only happened after the snow had occurred.
